The idea of travelling alone can be scary - especially if you have never travelled alone before. However, it can also be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Apart from getting some 'me-time', you will learn about yourself and the world around you in a way that you can't if you travel with company.
Here are 7 reasons why solo is the way to go.
1. You make new friends
If you are with friends/family, you are more likely to stick to them and not really talk to other people. Being by yourself is going to compel you to get out fo your comfort zone and talk to new people.
2. You learn about new cultures
It's not like you won't learn about new cultures if you travel with company, your learning will be way more intense if you are by yourself.
3. You stick to your budget
You won't be tempted by luxurious hotels or fancy romantic dinners - when you are alone, it is SO much easier to stick to your budget.
4. Your time is YOURS
Think about it - work, family, friends, responsibilities - not worrying about any of these for a few days. This is YOUR time.
5. You become stronger and smarter
Travelling alone can be scary. And who is going to rescue you from scary situations? YOU. Whether your travel plans get derailed or there are language barriers - you will realise you are more capable than you ever imagined.
6. You don't have to rely on anyone else
How many times have you travelled with a partner and they don't want to do what you want to do? You want to visit a museum, but they just want to chill and relax by the beach. When you fly solo - you don't rely on anyone else and do WHATEVER it is that YOU want.
7. You come back with a new perspective
After spending time away from your friends and family, you will come back to them only to appreciate them more than you did when you left.
