Paris Fashion Week has drawn to a close, marking the end of the long sartorial extravaganza that is fashion month.

And what particularly stood out this season was the sheer amount of hats on the catwalk. We can’t remember the last time there was such an influx of them during fashion week. In recent years, designers have seemingly been putting more thought into experimental make-up and statement hairstyles than covering it all up with a big hat.

The Grand Palais in Paris was decked out with sand, sea and blue skies for Chanel’s Spring Summer 2018 showcase for Paris Fashion Week.

Although it was a chilly autumn day on the streets of Paris, Chanel took their front row straight to the summer of '19 with a catwalk resembling a beach. There were wooden docks, waves, lifeguards and even former Baywatch actor Pamela Anderson sat on the front row.

Last year Saint Laurent staged its Spring 2018 show underneath the glittering Eiffel Tower, this year the fashion house one-upped itself as models walked on water –literally! Oh, and the magical show still had the iconic Parisian landmark of the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop.

There’s a heatwave in Paris, as we have the haute-est street style looks from Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Fall 2018 –pun definitely intended!

This week’s most stylish fashionistas have been providing a lesson in how to look good in the heat (please, it’s only 30 degrees –try living in Dubai), so expect dreamy dresses, summer suits, luxurious linens and slick accessories that double up for the beach and the city.
