1. Shop at the right time
June and November are end-of-season times during which many designers and retailers drastically slash their prices to sell the old collection and make room for the new season's style. If you shop strategically, you will not have to skimp on quality!
2. Choose the right colour
The decision to choose solid white, soft white, ivory, champagne, blush should depend on the colour of your skin. If the shade complements your skin tone, it will automatically make the dress look rich and vibrant.
3. Tailor your dress to perfection
This is the most important tip you can get. You have to make sure that the dress is tailored to perfection. An off the rack dress that fits you like a glove can look like a custom made gown.
If you are ordering online and are not sure about your size - order a size up. It is easier to take things in than it is to take things out.
4. Don't forget the importance of innerwear
Foundation garments/slips are as important as the dress itself. A good foundation garment makes the dress come alive as the designer intended it to.
5. Accessorize wisely
Do not go overboard with the accessories if your dress is simple. Focus on one statement piece (like the headpiece in the image below) and keep the rest of the look simple. We cannot say it enough - less is more!
