Unless you've been living in a cave, you would know that Pippa Middleton got married over the weekend.
We looked around for a detailed analysis of here monster 3.5ct Asscher cut diamond and couldn’t find anything comprehensive, so we turned to our friends at Fergus James for their take on Pippa’s piece of bling.
Ring Style
Fergus Appleton, Fergus James CEO, said, “Pippa’s partner, James Matthews, opted for an Art Deco classic style which is a move away from the current celebrity trend of having large diamonds with simple sweeping lines that really show off the centre diamond – Art Deco has a more robust feel to it."

What about the size?
“We’ve done some detailed analysis and we believe that the diamond weight is between 3.2ct and 4cts. I would presume that James has gone for a D IF perfect diamond spec as he has the funds to back up this kind of purchase – all in all, it’s a really unique ring design with a stunning diamond as the centrepiece."
Is it really worth $325,000?
“We’ve done a lot of research on this and really shopped around (like we do for all our customers) and believe that the same diamond and ring would be supplied by Fergus James for just under $150,000 so the chances are James went to an old style jeweler who took advantage with the pricing of the ring they eventually sold to him – even if you take VAT into account I think he massively overpaid for the ring which is a shame as he could have donated his Fergus James savings to a worthy charity.”
