Make Your Blowdry Last Longer

Getting your nails and hair done can make you feel like a new person. There is something about freshly manicured nails and blow-dried hair that makes you feel like you can take on the world.

And if you cannot afford a blow-dry every other day or do not have time to go to the salon - here are 10 simple ways to make your blow-dry last upto 7 days!

1. Shampoo twice

The cleaner the hair - the longer your blow-dry will last. Make sure your hair is squeaky clean by washing it twice.

2. Use conditioner sparingly

If you have oily hair - do not apply conditioner to your roots. If you have dry hair - apply a thin layer of conditioner.

3. Do NOT touch your hair

Little else compares to the feeling of touching freshly blow-dried soft, silky hair. However, keep in mind that your fingers produce oil and everytime you touch your hair you transfer the oil to your hair - hence damaging your beautiful tresses.

4. Finish off with cool air

Once your hair is styled the way you like it - finish off with a blast of cool air. This will set your hair in place.

5. Tie your hair when you sleep

Tie your hair up loosely with a clip when you sleep. Do not use an elastic band as it will cause a dent in your hair.

6. Avoid contact with water

Use a shower cap when you want to shower and make sure to keep the water temperature regulated as steam can cause your hair to become frizzy.

7. Sleep on silk

Silk, unlike cotton, retains moisture in the hair. Bonus: it is amazing for your skin too! Switch your cotton pillowcase for a silk one and feel the difference.

8. Use dry shampoo

This is your secret weapon! When used correctly, dry shampoo boosts volume and adds bounce to flat hair. It is also a life saviour if your hair turns greasy quickly.

9. Comb, don't brush

Brushing your hair will make it fluffy/ lose its style.

10. When all else fails - restyle

Did you know that braids hold up better in dirtier hair? Use your unwashed blow-dry to your advantage and restyle it before your next blow dry! You can also slick your hair into a high ponytail for the ultimate sophisticated look.
