How to drink water when you hate drinking water

If you're anything like us, you probably hate drinking water. People will often ask you how you can hate something that has no taste - but you know it has a taste - a flavourless flavour which just doesn't taste good (at least not as good as wine).

HOWEVER, not drinking enough water can lead to dehydration which can lead to kidney stones, bad skin and fatigue amongst other negative effects,

Here are 7 tips that will motivate you to drink more water.

1. Infuse your water with fruits

Infusing water with fruit and cucumbers not only makes it flavorful, but it makes it super fun and luxurious to drink. Check out our favourite combinations below.

2. Use a water intake app

Even though you know the benefits of drinking water, you may still need prompting, reminding, and inspiring. Waterlogged is a free app you can use to do the same!

3. Pay attention to the temperature

You could love ice cold water or prefer warm water.

4. Always keep water in sight

Out of sight, out of mind couldn't ring truer! Keep a bottle of water at your desk at work and in your car. You are more likely to drink it if it is right in front of you. We love the water bottles by S'well as they keep your water cold for many hours.

5. Eat foods with high water content

Foods like watermelon and tomatoes have over 90% water content. This is a sneaky way to increase your water intake.

6. Make it a ritual

Tell yourself that you MUST drink a glass of water before every meal or a glass of water as soon as you wake up. Keep a glass of water by your bed so that you don't get lazy. Upon practicing these "rules" over and over again, they will eventually become habits.

7. Drink coconut/sparkling water

Natural unsweetened coconut water and sparkling water are excellent alternatives to water that keep you hydrated and taste much better than regular water.
